Meet our stamping/ card maker teacher, Kim Corrigan I’ve been a ‘crafter’ for most of my life…whether creating clothes at the sewing machine in my teens, crochet and knitting in my 20’s, or crafting some outrageous dessert in my kitchen at any age, the rubber stamp has consumed my crafting passion for the past several years, and I don’t see it ending any time soon. For me, it is a hobby that can make me truly feel like an artist, even if I’ve copied someone’s design. There is such a wide range of techniques and stamp mediums that keep rubber stamping fresh and new. And fresh and new has changed my life…completely. I’ve since left the corporate world and have taken the plunge into self employment. Do what you love and love what you do has become my new motto. It is wonderful to work with new stamps and techniques and to share them with others. I hope that my enthusiasm will inspire you to give stamping a try. You might just be surprised that you have a stamping good time!

Meet our altered art teacher, Lisa Hess Over three years ago, Lisa fell in love with scrapbook art after a friend showed her a scrapbook. She has a passion for knowing everything about topics she’s interested in - so she dove in head-first! She enjoys multi levels of elements such as die cuts, embossing, tag art and 3-dimensional objects on her pages. Her favorite type of scrapbooking is vintage and scrapbooking pages of her kids. She discovered rubber stamping soon thereafter and dove in head-first making cards, then using stamps in her scrapbook layouts, then to altered art. She’s always finding some type of treasure to alter. As often as she can, Lisa tries to do something different with new techniques that she learns from others as well as coming up with concepts of her own. Lisa is part of a great Design Team for Hearts in Touch Rubber Stamps and also teaches at Scrappers Cove in Milltown, NJ. Lisa has lived in Freehold, NJ with her wonderful, understanding husband and two teenage children, Alexander, 17 and Victoria 14. Recently retired, Lisa has more time to do all the things in crafts she's been wanting to do for years.

Meet our teacher and store owner, Denise Carlson Since I was able to hold a crayon, I have always enjoyed being 'artsy'. Although I have never taken professional art from an art school, I have taken private lessons until I was 16 yrs old. I have always loved looking at my ancestors' pictures, wondering who they were, where they came from ect. After going thru a box of pictures when I lived with my parents, I was devastated to discover that there were many pictures without any identity of who the person was. I never forgot how upsetting that moment was to me. Several years later, my friend introduced me to scrapbooking. I immediately loved the idea of documenting my loved ones' lives. Today, I have been scrapping for 9 years. I enjoy learning and applying new techniques to scrapbooking when time allows. I hope to show generations the importance of scrapbooking and to show that scrapbooking does not have to be intimidating.
